Ballet

A graceful and poised style of dance originated back in the fifteenth century. A classical style demanding grace, precision, and formalized technique. Classes include barre work, center work, and across the floor.

 

Jazz

A styled form of dance that ties back to the foundational roots of Ballet. Upbeat & exciting, Jazz classes typically consist of center work, across the floor, and combinations.

 

Acro/Tumbling

A subdivision of gymnastics, Acro is practiced and performed in a dance studio and consists of floor work. Classes focus on strength, flexibility, and tricks. Ages 5+.

Intro To Dance

A 30 minute creative movement class for Toddlers! Expand creativity, coordination, and motor skills all while enjoying dance! Ages 2-3.

Tap

Characterized by using the sounds of taps sticking the floor, Tap dance focuses on musicality and the development of rhythms through movement.

 

Hip Hop

Street styles of dance primarily performed to hip hop music or evolving out of hip hop culture. Hip Hop is fun, energetic, and consists of warm ups and combinations.

 

Lyrical/Contemporary

Lyrical and Contemporary dance are both strongly grounded in ballet technique. Lyrical dance tends to combine Ballet and Jazz techniques to tell a story corresponding to a story or lyrics to a song. Whereas contemporary is a fusion of modern, ballet, and hip hop foundations with more grounded movement.

Technique

A UDC company exclusive class. This 90 minute course is designed to work all all aspects of ballet & Jazz techniques with an emphasis on jumps, tricks, and turns.
